Item Detail - Mfg/Grain - Manufacturing

The manufacturing tab lists all settings related to assembling and pricing feed items.

AO Mark Up % and $ - When feed prices are calculated, the mark up % and $ amount are added to the total ingredient market cost to determine the price of the feed.

Cumulative Price Revision - The cumulative price revision is also added to the total ingredient market cost to determine the price of an assembled feed. This field can be thought of a as a competitive price adjustment. CFC and Augusta use this to keep track of the difference in margin that they wish to make vs what they can actually make due to competition. For instance, all beef feed may be set to a 20% AO mark up, but on one particular feed they may have to lower the price by $5 a ton to match the price of their competitors. Having this field separate from the AO Mark Up % and $ allows them to keep up with how the competition is affecting their pricing.

AO Build To - The default build to location for this feed when placed on an assembly order.

  • Site - Often used for bag feed, as the feed is assembled and placed into the warehouse without knowing who it is going to be sold to.
  • Customer - Guaranteed - The feed will be placed on an order immediately after it is assembled which is useful for custom bulk feed that is always built to order.
  • Customer - Non Guaranteed - The feed will be placed on an order immediately after it is assembled, but will be billed by the ingredients instead of the main feed item, useful for custom bulk feed that is always built to order. Augusta is the only client that uses this option on some of their feeds.

Enter any Work Instructions of up to 500 alpha-numeric characters for Site specific instructions. This field is available when using the Import Types Add Items and Vendor Items, Update Items and Vendor Items, and Update Only Items.

Include Non-Inv Cost on AO - This should be selected on all non-inventory labor items such as Mixing, Grinding, Pelleting, that are on the Bill of Materials (BOM) of an assembly item so that they are included in the cost of the feed. If selected, the Level 1 price of the non-inventory item will be added to the cost of the feed when it is assembled. There are some rare cases where a non-inventory item on the BOM should only affect price and not cost, but this is usually better accomplished by raising the AO Mark Up % or $, and not putting an item in the BOM.

Formulation Item ID - The ID of the item in the Brill formulation program. This has to be filled in for the Import Brill Assembly Formulas and Export Costs to Brill functions to work.

Mixer Item ID - The ID of the item in the batching system - Repete or WEM. This ID is used when exporting and importing assembly batches.

Feed Ingredient- Select if the Item is a Feed Ingredient.

Bag Item- Select if this is a Bag Item.

Exclude from Brill Import - If selected, the item will be ignored when Importing Brill Assembly Formulas. This should be selected on all non-inventory items such as Mixing and Grinding that are part of the BOM in Merchant for cost and pricing purposes, but are not part of the assembly item's formula in Brill. If this is not selected on those items, they will be erased from the BOM when Brill formulas are imported.

Grain State Tax Liability - The GL account for any taxes assessed when grain is received or purchased from open storage.

Grain State Tax Amount - The amount of grain tax that is assessed either per bushel or dollar received.

Grain State Tax Base - The tax amount can either be assessed per bushel or per dollar amount received.

Market Cost - Since the price of commodities that make up most feeds can change rapidly, clients can set a market cost for each assembly item ingredient that is separate from Replacement Cost, Last Cost, or WAC. If a market cost exists on an item, it is used in the price calculation for the assembled feed. The market cost cannot be changed on items that are marked as Grain Items - the Enter Market Cost function under Item maintenance must be used for grain. See Enter Market Costs for details. This cost will also be used when BOM Market Cost is selected as an Input for Pricing Rule Groups.

Outstanding Stored Grain Qty - Shows the total quantity of stored grain for the client.

Pending Stored Grain Qty - Stored grain is considered pending when it has been used in an assembly, but the assembled item has not been sold to a customer yet.
